East Retford are delighted to announce that Chris Coates has been appointed Senior Head Coach.

Coates, who has a wealth of experience in both Rugby League up to international level coaching and in Union winning successive championships, is looking forward to the challenge ahead going into the season:

"I'm honoured to be involved with such a great club driven by a passion for the game and I'm looking forward to bringing a style of play and a culture across the club to help us succeed for years to come. Speaking with the committee here it's clear that they want the absolute best but want to keep a proud identity and I definitely want to embrace that.
After the time away from the game for everyone it's important to bring the good times back, get some smiles on faces with plenty training and getting back to what we all love about the game. I intend to help do that and I'm looking forward to seeing the talent that East Retford undoubtedly has flourish."

Peter Lewis, Club Chairman said about Chris's appointment:

"We have been extremely lucky that Chris has accepted the position. His experience and attitude will help the club to continue to pursue our ambition to move forward both on and off the pitch. We have been through a rigorous appointment process, involving the players throughout. The feedback received on Chris's coaching style, attitude and knowledge was so positive that we had no hesitation in appointing him."
